cJapan

A resource site made to help other students study abroad.

Also, a blog site for my experience in Japan in 2019!

Embarked on a Journey

A month in Japan was quite exhilarating and life-changing. I have slightly fulfilled that curiosity of what there is in this world. I have been staying in Southern California since birth and haven’t really exited the country or state. Studying in Japan with Citrus College was a true blessing. As for the icing on the cake, I was fortunate enough to win the Gilman Scholarship which aided half of my tuition and eased my financial stress. Despite forgetting Japanese during the few days, I had fun with the limited and broken Japanese I had. To this day, I wish to go back to Japan for either studying, working, or plain leisure. I will never forget the Summer of ’19.

Gilman Scholarship

Alumnus of the Gilman Scholarship which aided half of my tuition and also opened new opportunities for my future plus, welcomed me to a small community of experienced students. Not everyone is eligible for this scholarship, but perhaps you are! Come on by to see if you are eligible! You probably are.. 😊

    Student Testimonials

Took a Japanese motion picture appreciation course which was very insightful. The pedestrian culture stood out the most. Some tendencies and unspoken laws (drinking and eating while walking with some exceptions) are vastly different than here in the states.

The culture was very different and I really enjoyed how nice and respectful everyone is. I enjoyed the food and how it was presented. I enjoyed the honor system they have out there were most things were based on trust.

Studying abroad is seemingly one of the most important events in my life. The trip to Japan has shown me a new way of life and thinking; therefore; I find that it should be a must for those seeking a new perspective as well. Thankfully, those with financial difficulties have the option to seek scholarships and assistance.
